Chesapeake – Frank Forbes, Jr., 89, passed away March 27, 2015. He was born in Tarpon Spring, FL, the son of the late Frank Bell Forbes and Lillian Hernandiez Forbes. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bertie Sanders; and a brother, Cecil Forbes.

Frank is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia “Kitty” G. Forbes; 4 sons, Alan Forbes, Sr. and wife Helen, James Forbes and wife Betty, Carl Forbes and Charles Forbes; a sister, Marie Lane; 3 brothers, Joseph Forbes, Tran Forbes and Johnnie Forbes; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Frank was retired from the Civil Service as a Supervisor of the power plant at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church and a 67 year Masonic veteran of Lake Drummond Lodge #178.

A funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Deep Creek United Methodist Church by Pastor Mike Plasters. Burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel handling arrangements.
