William S. “Buddy” Bond – Class of 1966

candlePortsmouth – William “Buddy” Saunders Bond II, 67, of the 3800 block of Brighton Street passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. A native of Portsmouth, he was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a retired rigger for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a member of Portsmouth Moose Lodge #898.

Survivors include his wife, Maye Sue Persinger Bond; four daughters, Kimberly Riddick and husband Barry, Danielle DeLaney and Jme Dunlow and husband Chris, all of Portsmouth and Christy Hale and husband Mike of Loudon, TN; a son, William S. Bond of Loudon, TN; a sister, Patricia Kendrick of IL; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Bud Sedwick. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assn. or the American Diabetes Assn.
